Spermatorrhea (from the Greek words spérma, semen, and rhein, to spill) is a condition characterized by the involuntary release of semen from the penis. This release can be abundant or scant, but is always involuntary. It should not be confused with nocturnal emissions, as it is not ejaculation while asleep, but rather a continuous loss of semen while awake.

There may be pus present in the semen, which becomes foul-smelling and thick and sometimes yellow or green in color.

Spermatorrhea is caused by organic factors. In these cases, there is always inflammation or infection of the urethra, seminal vesicles, or prostate gland.

Spermatorrhea is not a way for the body to cleanse itself; it is a disease caused by organic factors, which, among other things, stem from infections or inflammations, and it is necessary to find the source of the infection.
